What do you do with a tiny pearl? That is what we wondered when one customer mailed us a 3-4mm pearl and asked for a necklace! She first asked for us to drill it and put it on a chain. But the pearl was small, we were afraid it would get lost on a chain. We held onto her precious pearl for a few days and put our heads together about what we could do and I finally decided, it was going to have to be set. We have been working with a metal artist on new ring designs (which we will launch later this year!) and we wondered if we could create a similar design with the smaller pearl. Here is a sneak peek a our upcoming rings….
We called the customer back but she was pretty sure she only wanted a necklace. We all worked on possible designs and slowly the story of the pearl began to emerge. This Pearl Girl was out for an oyster dinner with her husband on their anniversary when he bit down hard on something. It was a pearl! A special, unexpected anniversary gift. This woman wanted to commemorate her anniversary and this anniversary surprise with a necklace made from this special pearl. So, always staying true to our customers wishes, we met with our metal artist friend and we created something special for her and her precious, tiny pearl!
This precious pearl pendant is set in gold and on a gold chain. It is a custom metal design with a custom clasp too. We are so thrilled we were able to create exactly what our customer wanted for her precious pearl. Thanks so much for thinking of us and sharing this wonderful memory with us!
